The Hawthorne Ridge Community Center, nestled in a new residential development south of Lancaster city, has been submitted for construction permits.  Along with the permitting, several local contractors were invited to provide construction bids.  The 3,500 SF center will sit on the general building footprint of an existing dilapidated bank barn.  This project will salvage the original stone foundation walls to be used on the new building’s foundation walls.  Additionally, reclaimed existing barn board will be  used for finishes on the new center’s interior walls and lobby ceiling.  A 1300 SF community room, 600 SF fitness room, restrooms and kitchen provisions will allow the development residence a common place to gather and exercise.
