With the desire to expand their services at the Reading Municipal Airport and cater to regional flyers in the mid-Atlantic, Aviation Facilities Company of McLean, Virginia contracted TONO Architects to develop a long-range growth strategy for their existing Fixed Base Operation. Planned as a series of new general aviation service maintenance hangars, the facility included a central hospitality and line service center for aviation enthusiasts, pilots and charter groups. With an architectural form reminiscent of larger commercial aviation terminals, the new facility’s provided a strong visual identity for its owner.
