Located on the edge of downtown Trenton, New Jersey, the congregation desired to strengthen its identity within the community by expanding its ministry and physical presence. Working with the framework of a preexisting master plan, TONO provided a cost effective solution that embraced the church’s worship style while creating a strong visual dimension on the prominent corner site. Featuring an 800 seat sanctuary with balcony and pulpit for the 60 member choir and contemporary gospel worship band, the facility stands at 18,000 square feet. With substantial lobby and support spaces, the design contains an administrative office suite, bookstore and choir rooms. Moreover, the engineering team worked closely with the church and its audio visual consultant to integrate sound system, theatrical lighting and television broadcast capabilities as part of the sanctuary planning.
